LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS: You are delivering hope when it’s needed most

While we would love to reassure you that media outlets around the globe have sensationalized the horrific reports coming out of Haiti - they are true. Seemingly unbridled evil is manifesting in rioting, looting, government paralysis, murder, and other unspeakable atrocities. A veil of fear and panic has gripped much of the nation.

We can easily become disoriented by the darkness on display and feel hard pressed on every side by the weight of helplessness. But we are called to more. Adversity is where our faith and resolve are tempered. When darkness creeps higher, Christ’s light must stand taller.

FANNING THE FLAME

Your generosity continues to sustain critical outreach and declare the Good News of Christ. Hundreds of team members are diligently serving tens of thousands through Vapor’s three outreach centers in Haiti. Despite numerous logistical difficulties and increased expense, clean water is replenishing, food is sustaining, and health services are rejuvenating. Beyond that, we continue to receive reports of countless team members providing food and water to the desperate and destitute out of their homes.

“All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had.” - Acts 4:32

Children gather at centers and outreach continues thanks to your ongoing support.

Vapor’s regional leadership team continually monitors for threats and operates and adapts with caution to ensure center doors remain open for discipleship league whenever possible, and that children supported through Vapor’s Hasmin’s Friends program attend school at every opportunity as they prepare for upcoming exams.

WAGING WAR

Every morning, at every Haiti center, every team member who isn’t inhibited by road closures or barricades gathers for praise and prayer. Armed with gratitude, hope, and the Word, team members battle for their neighbors and their nation. We celebrate the great things He has done, is doing, and will do!

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” - Eph. 6:12

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” - 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS

Christian, a leader who has been faithfully serving on your behalf since Vapor began and who currently helps spearhead initiatives in Haiti, poignantly spoke to the very heart of matter.

“Despite the challenges, we are not bowing down,” he said. “Our mandate is to serve those hurting and to bring more souls to the Kingdom of God by multiplying disciples.”

The circumstances in Haiti are fluid and dynamic, but we believe the Lord has uniquely positioned the ministry to extend your kindness to the hurting and reveal His love to the hopeless and lost. This is what it means to meet needs, feed souls, and elevate God.

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.” - 2 Tim. 1:7

~ HOW YOU CAN HELP ~

PRAY: We urge you to join Vapor’s 671 team members as we lift up Haiti before the Lord. We are pleading for His peace to cover every man, woman, and child. We are asking for His hand to bring swift stability to the chaos. We are seeking His protection for the vulnerable and our team members as they continue to serve those within their reach.

GIVE: Your generosity is the lifeline that makes continued outreach and gospel sharing possible. Please consider making a one-time or ongoing gift to help fan the flame of hope in Haiti.

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”says the Lord. On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” - Romans 12:14-21
